This was a short trip to Gulf Shores, Alabama, diving with some of the folks I dive with for New Years, as well as the Dry Tortugas trip I took earlier this year. I stayed with my parents in Pensacola, a short 40 minute drive from Bubba Bridges' boat.

We had two days, three tanks a day. We got our tanks filled at Gary's Gulf Divers, just down the road from Sportsman's Marina where Bubba's boats are.

A cold weekend in the Gulf - we hit as low as 68 F on one dive. Still, it was fun, and I saw a lot of neat stuff ...

On To The Dives

  • May 29, 2004 (YDT-15 - Pete Tide - Russian Freighter)
    • First day of diving. I was happy to hear that the water was going to be at least 72 F - but then if you don't do it regularly, or have a lot of thermal protection, even that's cold.
  • May 30, 2004 (Three Sisters - Romar Barge - Wallace Liberty Ship)
    • A new type of site for me this day ...
