A three-day trip to the Dry Tortugas on the Ultimate Getaway. If memory serves, we left on April 21st at around 7pm from Fort Myers, Florida. An overnight cruise later we were in the Dry Tortugas. As far as liveaboards are concerned, we had a great crew. Accommodations were what you'd expect from a liveaboard - quite unlike the relative opulence of a Nekton boat or even the BBE. With sometimes up to six in a cabin, there's not a lot of space to store stuff. It's only three days, so it's not like you have to pack a lot of stuff. Just so it's clear: This is how liveaboard diving often is - the other trips I've taken can leave you a bit spoiled. Take the time to visit Ft. Jefferson. It's very interesting, and it's holding up well, all things considered. The weather this time of year was a bit colder than I was expecting - I forgot any warm weather gear. Also, my bunk went cross-beam of the boat, so (particularly while we were underway) the boat movement was contrary to getting any sleep. A length-wise bunk would have led to a gentle rocking side to side. My bunk kept me up with the going backwards and forwards. You are hereby forwarned. On To The Dives
